Verna E. Smith

Verna E. Smith 93, Wausau died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home with her family at her side. She was born January 14, 1919 in Wausau, daughter of the late Emil and Alice (Dehnel) Imm. For more than 25 years Verna worked in the laundry department at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Wausau. Some of her favorite pastimes included doing crossword puzzles, reading and watching old westerns, especially ones with John Wayne. Survivors include her children, Starla (Ted) Guckenberg, Olney, Montana, Marlene (Bob) Johnson, Winneconne and Dawn (Roger) Roehl, Wausau, three grandchildren, Autumn and Ian Windsor and Jeremiah Johnson and one brother, Milton (LaVila) Imm, Wausau. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Joel Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Maine.
