Vern J. Johnson

Vern J. Johnson, age 54, Wausau, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born September 19, 1959, son of John "Jack" Johnson and Bernadette (McDermont) Boyle. On September 8, 2012 he married Brittany Ebbinger in Wausau. She survives. Vern enjoyed golfing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was always willing to help others in need. Vern had a great love for his wife, Brittany and was affectionately known as "Papa Vern" by his granddaughter, Zoey. Survivors include his wife, Brittany, Wausau; children, Michael Johnson, Madison and Megan (Joe) Neeley, Prairie Du Chien; granddaughter, Zoey Neeley; mother, Bernadette Boyle, Madison; father and stepmother, John "Jack" (Peggy) Johnson, Madison; sisters, Sue Oelke, Sun Prairie and Kay (Mike) Antonie, Michigan; and brother, Aaron Johnson, Madison. Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.
