Vergil Agatha Hilber

Vergil A. Hilber 92, Wausau, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born October 24, 1914 in Pine Hollow, daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Hansen) Berens. Vergil was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating and flower gardening. Having a love for music she sang in the church choir and played both the piano and organ. Survivors include two sons, Robert C. (Janet) Hilber, Wausau and Earl (Georgia) Hilber, Chippewa Falls; daughter, Joyce (Robert) Fergot, Wausau; two brothers, Gerald (Theresa) Berens, Wausau and Cyril (Merle) Berens, Wausau; sister, Rosemary (Art) Jost, Portland, Ore.; fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two great step grandchildren, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Winand; a son, Jerome; five sisters, Lucille Scheinoha, Lorraine Berens, Marjorie Reynolds, Natalie Erickson and Elaine Barnetzke; four brothers, Norbert Berens, Lamont Berens, Clarence Berens and Francis Berens. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
