Verene J. Wilde

Verene J. Wilde 81, 1602 Wren St., Wausau, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born November 13, 1922 in Halder, daughter of the late George and Anna (Staeck) Krieg. On November 15, 1947, she married Harvey Wilde in Milwaukee. He survives. Verene had been employed at the former Wisconsin Valley Trust Company, Wausau. She was an active member of Parish Council of Catholic Women and the St. Catherine Council at Holy Name Parish. Among her favorite things to do besides being a homemaker, was baking, fishing, snowmobiling. She also enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Survivors besides her husband, Harvey Wilde, Wausau includes three children, Rodney (Barbara) Wilde, Wausau, Russell (Judy) Wilde, Mosinee and Carol Matysik, Edgar; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Earl (Marie) Krieg, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Vivian Krieg, Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again from 10:30 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the church. There will be a vigil service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the sixth street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau.
