Vera L. Westman

Vera L. Westman 85, 2704, Dove Ave., Wausau, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born March 18, 1920, in the town of Hewitt, daughter of the late George and Mary (Byer) Beyer. On June 3, 1942 she married Elwood Westman in Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1993. Vera was a homemaker. She was a long time member of Seventh Day Adventist Church and leader of the Dorcas Society. She enjoyed making quilts for fire victims. Survivors include four children, Dennis (Marilyn) Westman, Andover, Minn., Ned (Sally) Westman, Wausau, Terry (Carrie) Westman, Schofield, Gail (Sandor) Trigueros, Sequin, Tex; six grandchildren, Sarah, Heidi, Erik, Jake, Max Westman and Aaron Templeton; one great granddaughter, Sonja; six sisters, Theresa Macomber, Wausau, Edith Madden, North Lake, Ill., Lorraine Calvert, Chicago, Ill., Sally (Jerome) Wilhelmson, Skokie, Ill., Carol (Charles) Cieslak, Waukegan, Ill., Doris (James) Turner, Greenville, Tenn. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elwood, three sisters, Bernice Trittin, Wanita Gozy, Carrie Thompson; two brothers, Julius "Smig" and Lester "Etz" Beyer. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday April 18, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Pastor Bill Bossert will officiate. Burial will be in Mechanic's Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
