Valeria Anna Olson, 81, of Rothschild, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 23, 2012, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born December 7, 1930, in Town of Cassel to the late Anton and Anna (Bargender) Skrzypchak. Val attended Marathon High School where she participated in the Glee Club and Cheerleading. Following graduation she worked at the former St. Mary's Hospital and then at the office of Dr. John Flannery, Sr. as a medical secretary. On September 2, 1950, she married the love of her life, Jack Vyse Olson who preceded her in death on December 10, 2011.
In 1961 Val left the work force to take on the most important job of all, a "stay at home mom". Family meant the world to her. She made certain that every birthday, holiday or special occasion was celebrated and that the family was together. Val also had a passion for studying, collecting, refurbishing and selling antiques, which led to her becoming an active long time member of the YWCA Antique Club. She was also a member of St. Therese Ladies Council and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
Valeria is survived by her four sons: Jack Jr. (Ramona) Olson, Longmont, Co., Jay (Janet) Olson, Keshena, Todd (Cynthia) Olson, Rothschild, and Craig (Cathy) Olson, Appleton; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Kabat, Oshkosh, Erica (Eric) Stenglein, Madison, Nicholas Olson, Verona, Larissa and Ethan Olson, both of Rothschild, Krista and Eric Olson, both of Appleton; step grandchildren, Kristofer Schultz and Jesse (Jessica) Knight both of Longmont, Co., ten great-grandchildren, five brothers: Edward (Marilyn) Skrzypchak, David (Donna) Skrzypchak, Francis (Jenny) Skrzypchak, Roland (Lynn) Skrzypchak and Dale (Doreen) Skrzypchak, two sisters: Marlene Deininger and Eunice Hanson; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Adamski and Darwin Kluball.
She was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Anna Skrzypchak, two sisters, Mary Adamski and Virginia Bednorski-Kluball, three brothers-in-law, Edwin Bednorski, Larry Hanson and Sylvester Deininger.
Mom was an incredible and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a reflection of all that was kind and good and lived her life according to her strong belief in the Catholic faith. She will be missed very much.
