Trueman Habeck
81, Wausau, died Thursday December 9, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 25, 1929, in Schofield, son of the late Walter Sr. and Ora Madge (Bentley) Habeck. On February 2, 1957, he married Beatrice Justesen in Pine River, Minn. She preceded him in death September 30, 1988.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. Trueman was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau.
Prior to his retirement, Trueman had been employed at WPSC for 34 years as a lineman. Among his favorite things to do were golfing, Packer games and Nascar racing.
Survivors include his son, Kurt Habeck, Wausau, two daughters, Celeste Habeck, Dayton, Wyo., and Lisa (Mark) Burrows, Manteca, Calif., two grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas, one sister, Audrey Earl, Brownsville, Tex., four brothers, Walter Habeck, Schofield, Gene (Jan) Habeck, Wausau, Don (Patricia) Habeck, Tomahawk, Patrick (Marti) Habeck, Macon, Ga. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Leander, L. Faythe Habeck, Ervin, Allen, Harley, Merlyn "Goose" Habeck.
Services and Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday December 12, 2010 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, conducted by members of the American Legion and VFW. Friends may call on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
