Tressie Kordus Petrowski

Tressie Kordus Petrowski 93, formerly of 1112 N. 1st Ave., Wausau, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Marshfield Clinic Walk In Department. She was born May 10, 1910 in the town of Emmett, daughter of the late John and Rose (Kalamika)Kordus. On June 10, 1929 Tressie married John Petrowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death July 7, 1999. Tressie worked for the Wausau Hotel from 1939-1943 and the Pied Piper Shoe Company frim 1943 until 1946. She loved gardening and received many awards for her roses as well as being honored with the Garden of the Month Award. Special to her was the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne and their Fatima Council, The Dave Obey Better Way Club and the Catholic Knights. Survivors include four grandchildren, Bernie Gottung, Eau Claire, and his children, Quinten, Brandon and Marina; Robert (JoAnn) Gottung, Marshfield, and their children, Ashley, Autumn and April; Rose Gottung, Wausau and Sharon Gottung, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Violet Gottung, March 29, 2000, three sisters, Rose Kordus, Helen Kordus and Kathleen Ostrowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Weds. February 4, 2004 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
