Tonya L. Schug
38, the town of Corning, Merrill, died Tuesday August 16, 2011 as the result of a farming accident in the town of Corning.
She was born September 26, 1972, in Merrill, daughter of Linda Roesler, Wausau and the late Larry Becker. On October 14, 1995, she was united in marriage to Scott A. Schug at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He survives. Their union was blessed with four children, Hayley, Grace, Danielle and Sawyer.
For the past two years, Tonya had been employed as a registered nurse with Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill while she was pursuing her bachelor's degree in nursing. After completing high school, she was employed at Laufenberg Law Office, Merrill, worked for nine years at Marathon Cheese and had also been employed at Brokaw Paper Mill.
Tonya above all loved spending time with her family, she also enjoyed camping and fishing. Through the years, she volunteered her time in United Way activities and involved her children in the Girl Scouts and 4-H activities as well.
Survivors include her husband, Scott, her children, Hayley, Grace, Danielle and Sawyer; her mother, Linda Roesler, Wausau, three siblings, Connie Becker, Wausau, John Becker, Medford, Shawn Becker, Wausau, Maternal grandmother, Dorothy Roesler, Athens, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Sr. and Joanne Schug, Athens; Paternal grandmother-in-law, Dorothy Schug, Stratford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sandy Neubauer, Athens, Robert Schug Jr., Athens, Julie (James) Drinka, Neillsville, Lisa (Pete) Kroening, Athens, Paul Schug, Athens, Kenneth (Janae) Schug, Edgar, Jennifer (Cory) Mauer, Edgar, Jessica Sommer, Mile High City, Mont., four godchildren, Gavin Mauer, McKenzie Schug, Laura Becker and Shawn Becker Jr. godparents, John Roesler and Vicki Writz, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 23, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
