Timothy "Tim" C. Tanck
65, Rib Mountain, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at his home.
He was born April 13, 1946 in Wausau, son of the late Robert and Betty (Winter) Tanck. On November 15, 1975, he married Linda Krautkramer at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
He served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Tim worked at North Central Technical College, Wausau for 27 years as vice president of administrative services and then went on to work for Kolbe and Kolbe, Wausau for seven years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Wausau Breakfast Optimists, a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10 Wausau. Tim will be remembered for his unending sense of humor and caring personality.
Among his favorite activities, he enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling and "tinkering" around the house. Most of all, he loved entertaining friends and spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren and tending to his immaculate yard.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Tanck, Rib Mountain; two children, Richard (Tiffany) Tanck, Merrill and Laurie (Jeremy) Kloos, Rib Mountain; three grandchildren, Nicholas and Eleanor Tanck and Caden Kloos; one brother, Thomas (Amy) Tanck, De Pere; three sisters, Carol (John) Broeker, Weston, Cathy (David) Eberhardy, Oklahoma City, Okla. and Connie (Jerry) Kolpacki, Schofield; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
God bless Papa, you will be dearly missed and we love you very much. We will see you in heaven someday. Keep the garden growing and the grass looking beautiful.
