Timothy J. Rusinek

Timothy J. Rusinek, 56, Mosinee, died Friday May 29, 2015 at his home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice after a three year battle with a rare sarcoma. He was born November 20, 1958, in Chicago, son of the late Edward and Claire (Pagryzinski) Rusinek. On December 28, 1984, he married Linda Filipiak in Knowlton. She survives. Tim proudly served his country from 1978 until 1984 in the US Navy. Through his training and duty, Tim spent time in several areas of the world including, Hawaii, Norfolk, VA, San Diego, Panama, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Spain, Puerto Rico and Australia, among many other destinations throughout the world. Tim was proud of the honorable nickname for his naval group; The Preble Pro's which stood for; Proud, Reliable and Operational. For most of his working career, Tim had been a millwright working at Wausau Papers, Brokaw and most recently with Miron Construction. Among his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and gardening. Tim was a talented machinist and enjoyed woodworking. Other interests included hockey, baseball, boating and tending to his honey bees, an interest he shared with his brother, Rod. Tim especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing his wit and dry sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Linda Rusinek, a son, Luke Rusinek, Mosinee, a daughter, Claire (fiancAC., Dallas Weiler) Rusinek, Mosinee, two grandchildren, Gage Lee Rusinek and Max Gene Weiler, one brother, Rod (Gail) Rusinek, Weston, an aunt, Betty (George) Wagner, Ringle and an uncle, Maynard Page, Weston, along with other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 5:30 p.m. Tuesday June 2, 2015 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cancer Research (Sarcoma) at the Mayo Clinic.
