Thomas Lepak
89, Wausau, died Saturday February 12, 2011 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
He was born August 25, 1921, in Mosinee, son of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Skrzypchak) Lepak. On June 21, 1944, he married Adeline Filtzkowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. She preceded him in death June 29, 2004. Tom served his country during World War II with the US Army.
Prior to his retirement, Tom had been employed at the 3M Corporation, Wausau as a stock clerk. Among his many involvements, he was a member of the Holy Name Society at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, George Schreier Council No. 1069, Wausau, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau and the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau.
Among his favorite things to do were gardening, golf, bowling, sports in general, especially baseball and football.
Survivors include six children, Karen (Michael) Last, Saline, Mich., Charles (Becky) Lepak, Ankeny, Iowa, Barbara (Gerald Grunwald) Lepak, Cherry Hill, NJ, Gary (Kathy) Lepak, Eau Claire, Cynthia (James) Pierick, DeForest, Connie (Gerald) Pagel, Merrill, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, siblings, Irene Knetter, Wausau, Evelyn (Richard) Imhoff, Racine, Jerome (Alice) Lepak, Big Bend, Marvin Lepak, Ariz., Kenneth Lepak, Edgar, Carol (Elwood) Mason, Marathon.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Franklin and Norman and one sister, Viola Jean Parlier.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 18, 2011 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler OFM cap. will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 6:45 p.m. Thursday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
