Thomas (Tom / Tommy) John Harding, 105 A½ Polk Street, Merrill, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday September 16, 2010. He was born on September 24, 1946, son to the late Harold (Bud) and Maybel (Mae) Harding, Wausau, Wisconsin.
Tom graduated for Wausau Senior High School in 1965, and then continued his secondary education at NTCI and the University of Wisconsin. He was a faculty member of Pacelli High Scholl in Stevens Point, WI, where he received "Teacher of the Year Recognition" from his peers. He later taught at UW-MC campus in Wausau. Tom traveled extensively to many National Forests & National Parks were he worked on numerous reforestation & trailhead construction projects for the US Forest Service / BLM.
Tom served in the US Army - Forth Knox, KY & Army National Guard, HHC 1st Bn 632d Armor, Wis ARNG, Wausau.
Tom was a loving person and an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting, weaponry (worked a stint at "Bills House of Guns", Merrill), and fishing with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed afield this fall.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Harding, Athens, Wisconsin and Joe Harding, Pensacola, Florida, and one sister Jennie (John) Waddle, Tucson, Arizona. He has many nieces and nephews / great nieces and nephews, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a great nephew Anthony Bergmann, and one sister-in-law Terry Harding.
