Thomas F. Gassner
77, 228 N. 112th Ave., Marathon, died Saturday, December 29, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born February 14, 1924 in Marathon, son of the late Anton and Agatha (Seubert) Gassner. On July 27, 1946, he married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Goldbach at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She survives.
Thomas was a dairy farmer and accountant for the former Stettin Mutual Insurance Company until the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council #1069, Wausau. Thomas enjoyed deer hunting and spending precious time with his wife, family and friends.
Survivors besides his wife, Dolores, Marathon includes 1 son, Samuel (Charlotte) Gassner, Wausau; 4 grandchildren, Janese (Greg) Polley, New London, Heath (Sadie) Gassner, Marathon, Amanda (Chris) Reidinger, Marathon, Sara (Brad) Schmitt, Green Bay; 6 great grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Anthony, Alexis, Brandis and Nicole.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2001 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
