Thomas P. Dalasta

Tom P. Dalasta 55, Wausau, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Monday, July 18, 2005 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. Tom was born August 6, 1949 in Brookfield, son of Derio Dalasta, Pewaukee and the late Barbara (McCaffrey) Dalasta. Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later attended a local technical college to become certified draftsman. He started his business career at Wausau Window and Wall Systems as a draftsman and was later promoted to procurement manager, the position he held until his passing. Through his career accomplishments he was most proud of was completing his Certified Production & Inventory Management certification. Apart from his professional career he also had many other roles including a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Tom had many interests such as reading about the Civil War, coin collecting and watching sports. As a fan of the University of Wisconsin Badgers football team, he spent the last 12 years attending games with his wife and long time friends of the family, Mark and Sandi Johnson. Tom loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening at his home. He also took great pleasure in fishing and camping with his daughters and friends. Being a grandfather and spending time with his two grandchildren was also very special to him. Tom will be missed by his wife of 25 years, Betty; four daughters, Amy (Kris) Grell, Stratford, Danielle Dalasta, Julie Dalasta and Renee Dalasta all of Wausau; two grandchildren, BreAnna and Darin Grell; father and step mother, Derio (Dorothy) Dalasta, Pewaukee; three sisters, Susan (Mike) Harrow, Thornville, Ohio, Patricia (Steven) Thomas, Waverly, Ohio and Jane (David) Droll, Millers Port, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss him. A celebration of Tom's life will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 21, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. Friday until the 2:00 p.m. committal at Restlawn Memorail Park, Wausau. Rev. Casey Schifelbine will officiate.
