Thomas L. "Tom" Birkholz
71, 1806 Stark Street, Wausau, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 21, 1934 in Wausau, son of the late Walter and Hildred (Hannousek) Birkholz. On August 24, 1963 he married Anne Jakubowski at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Tom worked at Marathon Electric Corp. for more than 37 years. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Anne "Annie" Birkholz, Wausau, two sisters, Helene Fosmore, Las Vegas, Fern (Myron) Esselman, Wausau, one nephew, Frank (Lou) Mueller, Wausau, three nieces, Merry (Lee) Malak, Tomahawk, Marion Fontaine, Wausau, Rita Esselman, Elm Grove and three sisters-in-law, Virginia (Morrie) Buchholz, Manteno, Illinois, Mary (Buck) Stachowiak and Marge (Pete) Peterson, both of Wausau.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Charles and two sisters, Maye and June.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
