Theresa M. Weisbrod

Theresa M. Weisbrod, 94, formerly of Wausau, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Wynwood of Madison Assisted Living. She was born August 26, 1917 in Bevent, daughter of the late Casimir and Antoniette (Cherek) Shebelski. On October 8, 1947, she married Lawrence J. Weisbrod at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2005. Theresa served in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War II. Then, for many years, she worked as a Registered Nurse for Wausau Hospital until her retirement. She was instrumental in developing the emergency department and the outpatient surgery department there. She enjoyed volunteer work at the St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon. She was fond of playing bridge with the same group of friends for over 60 years. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and word puzzles, but her greatest joy was being with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Jane (Peter) Ince, Madison, and their children, Andrew and Elizabeth Ince; one son, John (Kathleen) Weisbrod, Spokane, Wash., and their daughter, Brenna Weisbrod; one sister, Jan (Don) Peterson, Wausau; sisters-in law Ruth Weisbrod of Rothschild and Adrienne Weisbrod of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and James Shebelski and two sisters, Dorothy Shebelski and Mathilda Marko. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday October 14, 2011 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
