Theresa R. Franz

Theresa R. Franz, 75, Athens, died Monday, October 17, 2016, her 57th wedding anniversary, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born October 3, 1941 in Stevens Point, daughter of the late George and Ruth (Schaner) Hoffman. On October 17, 1959 she married Lloyd Franz at St. Peter Catholic Church, Stevens Point. He survives. Theresa was a wonderful caregiver who ran an in-home child care for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lloyd, especially to Alaska. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and in her younger years camping trips. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd, Athens; children, Michael (Margaret) Franz, Kaukauna and Robert (Shawn Yeskis) Franz, Wausau; step grandchild, Luka (Mai Ya) Yang; great grandchild, Leona Yang; siblings, Barbara McDonald, Stevens Point, Albert Hoffman, Alabama, Patricia Pagel, Wauwatosa and Raymond (Diane) Hoffman, Plover. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Hoffman. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. George Graham will preside. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
