Thad P. Martens 40, Wausau, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at Langlade Memorial Hospital, Antigo. He was born June 28, 1964 in West Allis, son of Angie (Kurtzweil) Martens, Wausau and the late Daniel Patrick Martens. Thad studied at Christian Heritage College in California and then worked for Dow Jones for many years. He was a member of the Citizens for Decency Club, Morality in Media of Wisconsin and Friends of the Library Club, Wausau. Besides bike riding, swimming, studying religion and a great sense of humor, the most important thing to him was religion; it was a daily part of his life. Besides his mother, Angie Martens, Wausau, survivors include three sisters, Phyllis (Mark) Brandt, Wausau, Brett (Brad) Schmidt, Green Bay and Lynn Martens, Nerstrand, Minn.; two brothers, Brian (Emma) Martens, Dixon, Ill and Corin Martens, Chicago. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.
