Sylvia Grade

Sylvia Grade 84, 713 Brown St., Wausau, died Thursday, September 11, 2003. She was born April 23, 1919 in Almond daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Wisnaski) Spear. On August 20, 1938 Sylvia married Clarence Tessmer in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1950. She then married Ervin Grade on June 18, 1952 in Center City, Minn. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1958. Sylvia had been employed as a dietary aide at the former St. Mary Hospital and later for Wausau Hospitals. Survivors include her children, Judith (BJ) Blackburn, Enterprise, Ala., Sharon (Dennis) Galvin, Baskin Ridge, New Jersey, Jean Hermann, Fond du Lac, Carl (Sheral) Tessmer, Tampa, Fla., 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, four sisters, Valva Arrowood, Antigo, Byrdine Tessmer, Wausau, Ruby Szitta, Gleason, Mary Jean Clay, Antigo, one brother, Charles Spear, Freedonia. Beside her parents and husbands, Sylvia was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Nonemacher. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 16, 2003, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Rib Mountain. Rev. Gary Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
