Sylvester E. Lipinski, Sr., 89, 707 N. Second Avenue, Edgar, died Thursday, October 23, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born September 12, 1914 in Poniatowski son of the late Ignatz and Josephine Lipinski. On July 2, 1938 he married Goldie Ziegel in Wuertzburg.
Sylvester farmed in the town of Rietbrock, was a logger and worked for the village of Edgar for 21 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and fixing lawn mowers and bicycles.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Lipinski, Edgar; two sons, Sylvester (Marilyn) Lipinski, Jr., Athens, Nick (Jan) Lipinski, Edgar; three daughters, Lorraine (Marv) Holbach, Edgar, Merceda (Thomas) Wesolowski, Edgar and Joyce (Ken) Schara, Edgar; 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Sanders, Chicago, Ill.. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Paul Lepak, Danny Holbach, Sheri Lynn Holbach; four brothers, Stanley, Frank, Alex and Joe Lipinski; five sisters, Tillie Mrocenski, Laura Dyrek, Sophie Buzonik, Helen Drazinski and Anna Starcheski; and one son-in-law Frank Lepak.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2003 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
