Sylvester F. Holbach
87, Weston died Monday, February 20, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Rennes Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
He was born September 30, 1924 in Athens, son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Schreiner) Holbach. On April 30, 1946 he married Margaret Adams in Wausau. She survives.
Sylvester was an auto mechanic at Marathon Auto Sales for many years. Some of his favorite pastimes included watching baseball and old westerns, hunting and cutting firewood.
Sylvester proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Holbach, Weston, his children, Gerald (Kim) Holbach, Sturgeon Bay, Larry Holbach, Marathon, Dennis (fiancAC. Leila) Holbach, Schofield, Ron (Linda) Holbach, Mosinee, Glenn (Dawn) Holbach, Wausau and Lori (Dean) Thorson, Aniwa, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, his sisters, Dorothy Kralcik, Athens, Illa (Lawrence) Heibl, Athens and Marcella (Clarence) Schreiber, Abbotsford, his brothers, Marvin (Lorraine) Holbach, Edgar and David (Betty) Holbach, Athens.
Besides his parents Sylvester was preceded in death by two brothers, twin brother Lawrence and Lavern.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 23, 2012 , at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth St. funeral home.
