Sylvester J. Chojnowski, 87, Edgar died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 12, 1928 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Telesfor and Annie (Gajewski) Chojnowski. On October 8, 1949 he married Alice Lepak at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. She survives.
Sylvester was known for his hard work ethics from farming, hauling milk, cement construction to his later years working in the lumber mills, finally retiring at age 76. He enjoyed his Sunday dinners with his family and his walks through town and talking to anyone he met on the way.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Chojnowski, Edgar, his children, Marge (Floyd) Heidmann, Edgar, Ray (Wendy) Chojnowski, Edgar, Evelyn (Wayne) Kottke, town of Hamburg, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two siblings,, Clem Chojnowski, Illinois and Florence Iwanski, Vesper, one son-in-law, Dennis Zocher, Abbotsford, one sister-in-law, Joan Chojnowski, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Shirley Zocher and Al Chojnowski, one granddaughter, Lynn Drexler and three siblings, Edmund, Chester and George Chojnowski.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
