Susan Shukes
86, 2901 N. Seventh Street, Wausau, died Monday July 28, 2003, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born April 17, 1917 in Cicero, Ill., daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Kaikaris) Stanislovaitis. On July 20, 1940 she married Charles Shukes, in Cicero. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1994.
Susan was a certified piano teacher and was a typist for Taylor-Forge Pipe Works in the 1950's. She was a member of St Michael Catholic Church, Wausau and was active in Bible studies and missions. She enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Richard (Gigi) Shukes, Mercer; three grandchildren, Scott (Kimberly) Shukes, Charlotte, N.C., Gina (Bryan) Seidl, Rhinelander, Tracy (Bill) Weslager, Houston, Texas and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother Bruno Stanis.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.
