Susan J. Carey-Wheeler

Susan Carey-Wheeler 50, 2103 Ryanwood Ave., Schofield, died Thursday September 13, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born August 30, 1951 in Wausau, daughter of Mark and Grace (Welch) Carey, Schofield. Susan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Health Administration from the UW Madison. Following the completion of her education, she had been employed in the Research Department at the UW Madison, then was employed at the UW Alabama as Director of Medical and Surgical Intensive Care and most recently was vice president of Nursing with the Cardiac Hospital, McCallum, Texas. Survivors include her parents, Mark and Grace Carey, Schofield, two sisters, Elizabeth (Thomas) Kemp, Waukesha and Jean (Patrick) Honny, Mira Loma, Calif., five nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. Sunday September 16, 2001 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Comfort Care and Hospice Services or the American Diabetes Association.
