Susan S. Burger

Susan S. Burger, 88, Schofield, died Thursday November 17, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a brief illness. She was born August 29, 1928, in the town of Reid, daughter of the late Stanley and Stella (Trzeskowski) Budleski. On November 30, 1946, she married Richard H. Burger at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. He preceded her in death May 29, 1964. Prior to her retirement, Susan worked for 42 years at Marathon Communication in Wausau. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteer work and traveling. Special to her were her trips to Poland to visit the birthplace of her parents and visit with extended family living there. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia (Don)Bernard, San Antonio, Tex., Debra (Kurt) Rekau, Eagle River, extended family, Linda & Frank Larson, Wausau, four grandchildren, Adam (Tasha) Rekau, Leah (fiancAC., Sergio) Rekau, Katie Burger and Joey Burger; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Evan Rekau. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rick, and four siblings, Emily, Edmund, Ann and Joe. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday November 23, 2016 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Very Rev. Alan Slowiak will preside. Private burial services will be at Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
