Stephanie J. Achauer

Stephanie J. Achauer 43, Wittenberg died Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born September 6, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Jean (Thompson) McClain, Burlington and the late James McClain. On September 6, 1989, she married Jay Achauer in Milwaukee. He survives. Stephanie and Jay moved to Wittenberg in 1990, where she owned and operated the Steffies Nook Restaurant for four years. She was well known in the community as a generous, giving and loving person. Survivors besides her husband, Jay, Wittenberg and her mother, Jean; include two sisters, Kelly (Chris) Datzer, Burlington and Karen Linneman, Oconomowoc; one brother-in-law, Joe Linneman, Oconomowoc; two brothers, Jim McClain, Nevada and Mike McClain and many nieces and nephews. Private family services were held. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Stephanie's name.
