Stella C. Sikorski

Stella C. Sikorski 87, 930 S. 19th Ave., Wausau, died Tuesday March 7, 2006 at the Hospice House, Wausau. She was born February 15, 1919 in the town of Rietbrock, daughter of the late August and Emma (Stencil) Urmanski. On February 28, 1938, she married Mark J. Sekorski in Poniatowski. He preceded her in death May 10, 1968. Prior to her retirement, Stella had been employed at Wausau Hospital. She was a member of St. Catherine's Council at Holy Name Parish and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Survivors include a daughter, Bernadette Baumann, Wausau, two sons, Edmund (Diane Veith) Sikorski, Columbus, Wis., Gerald Sikorski, Wausau, seven grandchildren, Christine Erdman, Pam (Nathan) Van Vuren, Kurt Baumann, Theresa (Bryan) Price, Kevin (Kathy) Sikorski, Natalie Sikorski, Dawn (Ed Mereand) Sikorski; six great grandchildren and three sisters, Helen Myszka, Athens, Marcella Heil, Wausau and Bernadette (Leon Thomas) Stieber, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, Stella was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alex Baumann, a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Sikorski, a brother, George Urmanski and a sister, Eleanor Drewek. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 11, 2006 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice House. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their most sincere and gracious appreciation to all the caregivers at the Hospice House for the outstanding care, compassion and love shown to Stella during her time with them.
