Stanley "Stan" L. Naze, 83, of Wausau, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Aspirus Hospice House, in Wausau, WI. He was born May 9, 1931 in Maplewood, WI, son of the late Eugene and Marcella (Andre) Naze. On February 20, 1954, he married Bertha Delforge in Rosiere, WI.
Stan was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He visited Washington, D.C. in 2012 as part of the Honor Flight program.
Stan worked for 41 years at WSAW Channel 7 in Wausau. He began his career as an engineer, working on the television station's very first broadcast, and later directed a variety of programming before becoming an advertising executive, a position he held until his retirement. Stan spent much of his free time in the Minocqua area, where he enjoyed fishing and boating, as well as traveling the country in his RV.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Bertha Naze, of Wausau, WI; four children, Gregory (Carol) Naze M.D., Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Michele (John) Damrow, Minnetrista, MN, Todd (Carol) Naze, McFarland, WI, and Sondra (Randy) Llanos, Rhinelander, WI; nine grandchildren, Nathan (fiancAC.e Megan Wachspress) Naze, Garrett and Sawyer Naze, Rachel and Lauren Damrow, Jessica and Natalie Naze and Maile and Brendan Llanos; three sisters, Judy Guilette, Barrington, IL, Mary Ann (Claude) DeNamur, Green Bay, WI and Sharon (Scott) Pinchart, Forestville, WI, many nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Joanne Delforge, Appleton, WI.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Naze, brothers-in-law, Milton Delforge and Ken Guilette, and grandsons, Eric and Matthew Naze.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. David Bruener will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
