Stanley W. Lyon

Stanley Lyon, 69, Wausau died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. He was born September 14, 1943 in Wausau, son of the late Lewis and Loretta (Stieber) Lyon. Stanley married Janet Lemmer on May 13, 1967 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2007. For many years Stanley had been employed with Wisconsin Bearing in Wausau, later transferring to Rhinelander. Prior to his retirement he was employed part-time with Rhinelander Stucco and Stone. He enjoyed woodworking, and fashioning projects with wood, playing horseshoes and darts. Stanley was a huge Brewer, Badger and Packer fan. Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 until 1965. Survivors include his two daughters: Ann (Jordan Kickbusch) Lyon, Wausau, April (Ryan) Gardner, Sussex, one grandson, Gavin Gardner, sister, Jeri (Walter) Voight, Sussex, brother, Mark (Barbara) Lyon, Weston, sister-in-law, Ruth Lyon, Wausau, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Lyon and infant Patrick Lyon. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Stan's name.
