Stanley "Stash" J. Laszewski, 83, Wausau, formerly of Stevens Point, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born September 20, 1931 in Stevens Point, son of the late Anton and Hattie (Sharfinski) Laszewski.
Stanley was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served from 1950 until 1953. He was an electrician for many years until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football, making soup and sharing stories with family and friends.
Survivors include, four children, Debbie (David) Salber, Marathon, Christine Laszewski, Merrill, Jeffery (Vanessa) Laszewski, Seattle, Wash. and Nicholas Laszewski, Florida; five grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Cotter, Rebecca (Justin) Brodhagen, Jake Salber, Zach Narlock and Ezra Roszak; two great-grandchildren, Thatcher and Quinn Brodhagen; and one sister, Velma Laszewski, Milwaukee.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Stevens Point. Rev. Monsignor Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery, Stevens Point, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Behrens-Scribner Post No. 6, Stevens Point.
