Stanley M. Czechowicz Sr.
82, Wausau, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1926 in Marathon, son of the late John and Mary (Piekarski) Czechowicz. On August 20, 1988, he married Lillian Ostrowski in Wausau. She survives.
Stanley served in the United States Army as a Private First Class. For 23 years, he worked as a welder for J. I. Case until his retirement in 1984. Among his many interests, he enjoyed music and traveling with his wife, Lillian. Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed 14 cruises and visited 26 countries and 32 islands.
Survivors include, his wife, Lillian Czechowicz, Wausau; five children, Rosie (Ric) Carr, Rib Mountain, Marlene Czechowicz, Wausau, Stanley Czechowicz Jr., Schofield, Gary (Karen) Czechowicz, Wausau and Brian (Karen) Czechowicz, Ocala, Fla.; seven step-children, Gary (Rhonda) Rogalla, Mosinee, Gale (Chris) Ziolkowski, Wisconsin Rapids, Bev Damask, Wausau, Steve (Nancy) Rogalla, Iola, Carol (Mark) Sickler, Eland, Lene (Ron) Hoeft, Mosinee and Lee (Veronica) Rogalla, Wisconsin Rapids; 31 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Czechowicz; one daughter, Susan Czechowicz; and nine siblings.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon on Monday, August 4, 2008 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
