Shirley A. White, 76, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.
She was born on March 5, 1949 in Merrill. Shirley was united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran church in Merrill to Lawrence White on May 10, 1986, after meeting at single’s club in Gleason. They enjoyed nearly 39 years together.
Together, Shirley and Larry enjoyed traveling the country with their fifth-wheel camper and always returning back to their permanent campsite near Waupaca. While camping they loved being out in nature, the crackling campfires, and the company of friends and family. Many rounds of card games were played and while on the road Shirley would crochet Afghan blankets as the miles passed by. She also loved baking and the companionship of their rescue dogs. Shirley’s sense of humor will be missed by all. In 2014 Shirley retired from Walgreens after a dedicated 35-year career as a Pharmacy Technician.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence “Larry” White; in-laws, Robert (Sharon) White of Irma, Forrest White of Medford, Ida White of Thorp, Daniel (Candy) White of Eagle, Joann “Jojo” White of Merrill, Sarah (Russell) Schultz of Marshfield, Eileen Fedderer of Marshfield, and Annette White of Marshfield; nephews and nieces, Travis (Amanda) White of Merrill, Andrew (Sherie) White of Merrill, Mikalia (Spencer) Grande of Phoenix, Arizona, and other nieces and nephews; and great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and cousins-in-law.
