Shirley M. Ross

Shirley M. Ross, 83, died Sunday, October 20, 2024, under the care of Heartland Hospice at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Marathon.

She was born November 28, 1940, in Wausau, daughter of the late Donald and Marion (Froemming) Sillars.  On February 16, 1963, she married William Ross Sr. at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2005.

Shirley retired from production at Kolbe and Kolbe in Wausau.  She was talented in sewing, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed special casino adventures with her sisters.  Her dog, Precious, brought her comfort and joy.  She loved going out to lunch and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, William Ross Jr. and Donald (Shelly) Ross; grandchildren, Sean and Olivia; sister, Janice Polzer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Charlotte Cunningham.

Private family services will be held.
