Shirley M. Mullen

Shirley M. Mullen 69, Park Falls, formerly of the town of Rib Mountain, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls. She was born August 26, 1937 in Wausau, daughter of the late Dan and Adeline (Springer) Jensen-Ristow. On October 7, 1953, she married Raymond Mullen in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2005. Shirley had been employed at Marathon Electric in Wausau for many years. She enjoyed playing cards in her younger years. Following a disabling stroke at the age of 51, she moved to the North Woods. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Prior to being in Pleasant View Health Care in Phillips, she was at home with her husband of 51 years and her companion, Cinders. She will be remembered as a generous people person. She is survived by her three children, Debi (Rick) Michael, North Wales, Penn., Lori Guzman, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Randy (Mary) Mullen, McKinney, Texas; her grandchildren, Adam Guzman, Dan Michael, Amy, Max and Marcus Mullen, a great granddaughter Davena Guzman; two brothers Robert (Karen) Ristow, Wausau and Dan (Betsy) Ristow, Escondido, Calif., one sister, Judith Ristow, Maui, Hawaii; one brother-in-law, Arnold Apfelbeck, Rhinelander; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by her infant son Scott; her sister Jane Apfelbeck her nephew Alan Apfelbeck; and her niece, Samantha Apfelbeck. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
