Shirley M. Zocher, 54, Abbotsford, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home.
She was born July 29, 1958 in Wausau, daughter of Sylvester and Alice (Lepak) Chojnowski, Colby. On September 13, 1980 she married Dennis Zocher at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He survives.
For many years Shirley worked at Wausau Insurance Company until the birth of their only child, Kevin when she decided to stay home and care for him unconditionally. Some of Shirley's favorite pastimes included reading, taking Kevin fishing and enjoying all of Mother Nature's gifts that would visit her yard.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Zocher, Abbotsford, her loving son, Kevin Zocher, Abbotsford, her parents, Sylvester and Alice Chojnowski, Colby, her siblings Marge (Floyd) Heidmann and Ray (Wendy) Chojnowski, both of Edgar, Evelyn (Wayne) Kottke, Athens, her mother-in-law, Shirley Zocher, Merrill and three sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Al Chojnowski and her father-in-law, Erwin Zocher.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Rev. Robert Streveler and the Deacon LeRoy Knauf will preside. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
