Shirley Ann Helvey

June 29, 1937 — December 6, 2003

Shirley Ann Helvey 66, 6202 Randy Jay Street, Weston, died Saturday December 6, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born June 29, 1937, in Marathon, daughter of the late Henry and Anne Stieber. On May 10, 1976 she married Harold Helvey in Crystal Falls, Mich. He survives. Prior to her retirement, Shirley Ann had been employed for 28 years as an administrative secretary at Wausau Steel. She was the current treasurer of the Wausau Antique Auto Club and also served for eight years on their Board of Directors. She was also a member of the Little Flower Council at St. Therese Catholic Church. Among her favorite pasttimes were gardening, especially flowers, feeding the birds, collector cars and using her favorite mode of transportation-her own two feet. Special to Shirley Ann was the time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Harold Helvey, Weston, she was was mother to ten children,; Michael (Marie) Eggebrecht, Genoa; Patricia "Patsy" (Rodney) Krueger, Ringle; Roman (Julie) Eggebrecht, Weston; Rick (Becky) Eggebrecht, Brookings, So. Dakota; Lesley (Brian) Hoffman, Eden; Randy Helvey, Kevin Helvey, both of Wausau; Wade Helvey, Todd Helvey and Robin (Dennis) Streeter, all of Merrill; 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, siblings, Roger (Aggie) Stieber, Tomahawk; Pauline (John) Ivaska, Edgar; Dennis (Lisa) Stieber, Francis (Cindy) Stieber, Rosemary (Gary) Stubbe and Rita (Rich) Rennie, all of Mosinee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Imelda. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Weds. December 10, 2003, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau and again on Weds. from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 10:15 a.m. Weds. morning at the church. Inlieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com
