Sherry L. Yaeger, 63, Weston, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born November 11, 1950 in Rhinelander, daughter of the late Richard and Dolores (Lund) Holewinski. On September 7, 1974 she married the love of her life, Richard Yaeger in Wausau. He survives. Sherry worked as an audit processor for Employers Mutual prior to her children being born. She then stayed home to raise her children and ran an in home daycare. She loved and had a special gift for working with children and dedicated her life to raising her family. In her younger years she played both Wausau Area Women's Softball and RSW Women's Volleyball League and was also an active member in the Wausau Women's Christian Club. When her daughters were younger, she was a Brownie Leader and for many years she looked forward to hosting family gatherings and taking annual vacations to various cottages up North. Sherry was a very friendly, outgoing person who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and she often did. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed taking trips to the casino with her husband which landed her the nickname "Lucky Sherry". She also enjoyed spending time with her long time best friend, Mary Schultz. Survivors include her husband, Richard, Weston; children, Heather Luedke, Cottage Grove, Ben (Laura) Yaeger, Rothschild, Erica (Jeremy) Bardon, Wales, Tyler (Amanda Pfantz) Yaeger, Rothschild, Clint (Larissa Olson) Yaeger, Weston and Colton Yaeger, Weston; grandchildren, Gavin and Easton Luedke, Julia Yaeger, Myla, Ilee and Willa Bardon; sister, Nancy (Jeff) Schultz, Ketchikan, Alaska; mother-in-law, Hedwig Yaeger, Weston; sister-in-law, Kathy Holewinski, Rhinelander; aunt, Karen Fontana, Wausau, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrissa, three brothers, Randy, Rick and Ronald Holewinski and her father-in-law, William Yaeger. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Weston. Rev. Raymond Connor will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Sherry's name. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
