Sherri L. Boyd

Sherri L. Boyd 45, Athens, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born on April 12, 1964 in Wausau, daughter of the late Urban and Elizabeth (Maier) Passehl. On May 18, 1990, she married Darrell Boyd at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. He survives. Sherri was a 1982 graduate of the Athens High School. She was employed with Weathershield Windows, Medford from 1985 until October of 2009, when she became too sick to work. Among her many interests, she enjoyed cross-stitch, needlepoint, word searches, fishing and bowling. She always looked forward to attending her children's sporting events and volunteering at the concession stand or wherever needed. Sherri especially enjoyed time spent with her loving family. Survivors include, her husband, Darrell Boyd, Athens, three children, Casey (Paul) Zarnke, James Boyd and Craig Boyd, all of Athens; one grandson, Kamden Zarnke; five siblings, Udell (Kari) Passehl, Marathon, Tim (Jenny) Passehl, Sandy (Jay) Schmidt, Kevin (Barb) Passehl, all of Athens and Sue (John) Wood, Emlenton, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Linda (Mark) Ellenbecker, Athens; two brothers-in-law, William (Kitty Mork) Boyd, Rhinelander and Charles (Rita) Boyd, Mosinee; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. The Very Reverend Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the Wuertzburg Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
