Sharon Ann (Buchholz) Poblitz

Sharon A. Poblitz (nee Buchholz), died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born on November 26, 1946 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Earl A. Buchholz and Rose Marie (Wilhelms) Buchholz.  She graduated from Ripon High School Class of 1965.  She married Roger E. Poblitz on September 11, 1965.

In 1971, they moved to Wausau.  She worked at T-Mart Grocery in the meat department.  In 1976, she became a head cook at Newman Catholic High School.  In 1999, she became the Coordinator of the Catholic Schools Food Service Program.  On June 24, 2003, she was awarded the School Food Service Manager of the Year for the State of Wisconsin.  She retired in 2011.  Her favorite thing was music and sang for many weddings and funerals and was cantor for Mass.

Sharon will be missed by her husband, Roger of 59 years; two daughters, Michelle (Jesse) Bornfleth and Melanie (Bart) Riddell; one grandson, Evan Paul Holtz; one granddaughter, Chloe Rose Holtz; one step-grandson, Erik Scott Riddell; one brother, Earl Buchholz; one sister-in-law, Marva Buchholz; one nephew, Ampy Buchholz; and many special friends.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Wausau.  Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.  Burial will be on Saturday at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
