Sharon Mae (Wendt) Lemmer

Sharon Mae Lemmer, 72, Edgar, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 17, 1952 in Wausau, daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy (Krueger) Wendt.  On May 6, 1972 she married Robert Lemmer at St John Catholic Church, Edgar.  He preceded her in death November 25, 2010.

Sharon Lemmer will leave a legacy of love.  She will be remembered for her heart of gold, unfailing support, and unconditional love.  Everyone who played cards with her will remember the metaphorical golden horseshoe she most always seemed to have.  Her friends will always remember her kindness and generosity.  And her family will remember her for the fountain of love that she embodied.  Sharon gave tirelessly and selflessly to any and all in need.  Her charitableness was legendary.

Sharon together with her late husband Robert instilled in their children an undeniable faith in God, unwavering loyalty to their family, and a clear sense that above all else, the most important of all things is love.

For Sharon, love meant her family.  The only thing that would make her face light up more than her children walking through her door, was seeing her grandchildren (and great grandchildren) walk through that door.  And that happened at least every Sunday for their family dinners.   Everyone who knows Sharon, knew Sundays meant the world to her because it meant a day spent with her family.

The family of Sharon would like to thank all of her friends and family.  Whether you brought her chocolate, flowers or company.  Whether it was a phone call, a drop-in to say hi, or it was for the weekly card game.  You made a difference in her life, and brought her joy.  And for that we are eternally grateful.

Survivors include her children, Julie (Jack) Knetter, Edgar, Jackie (Eric Voigt) Lemmer, Edgar, Joseph Lemmer, Edgar and Bobbi (John Voigt) Lemmer, Merrill, 8 grandchildren, Alex (Shannon), Christian, Joshua, Gabriel, Robert, Miryssa, Kyra and Maddi, 4 great grandchildren, Sophia, Aiden, Ava and Seraya, 5 siblings, Elaine Iattoni, Glen (Jean) Wendt, Gloria Wirkus, Kenny (Ruth) Wendt and Linda Schreier and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Stephen and 3 siblings, Florence Denfeld, Thomas Wendt and Gerald Wendt.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar.  Rev. Alan Wierzba will preside.  Burial will be at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
