Selvina R. Wix

Selvina R. Wix 87, Wausau, died Friday February 27, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born April 10, 1921 in St. Cloud, Minn., daughter of the late Louis and Anna Zieglmeier. On June 7, 1947, she married Henry Wix at St. Mary Catho9lic church, Wausau. He preceded her in death February 21, 2006. Selvina was a homemaker. She had a deep devotion to her faith and was a member of the Rosary Confraternity at St. Michael Parish as well as a member of the Secular Franciscans, St. James Fraternity. Among her favorite things to do were watching ball games at Athletic Park, taking bus trips with the ladies from church and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Gerald (Vicki) Wix, Wausau, Barbara (Lee) Petersohn, Weston, Dianne (Jay) Costa, Wausau, Roger (Patricia) Wix, Wausau, Donna (Robin Vullings) Wix, Milwaukee, Donald (Kathy) Wix, Kronenwetter, Thomas (Linda) Wix, Wausau, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one sister, Lorraine Hainey, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, Henry, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christy and Kelly Costa, three sisters, Evelyn, Zieglmeier, Marie Zieglmeier, Mabel Zieglmeier, Hildegard Bie, Isabelle Marvin and Alma Nowak, four brothers, Lawrence, Norbert, Albert and Martin Zieglmeier. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday March 2, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from Noon until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Michael Parish.
