Scott J. Zastrow

Scott "Jamie" Zastrow 47, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born January 20, 1958 in Milwaukee, son of the late Aner C. and Delores (Clark) Zastrow, Jr. Jamie worked at Z Tech in Stevens Point. He was a very kind and compassionate person who would help anyone in need. People who knew him will always remember his need for speed, from racing motorcycles at the Merrill Ice Drags to his many customized race boats that he cherished so much. His last love for speed came with the American Family Rob Rafer Snowmobile Race Team. Jamie was the first to introduce the professional sprayed-in bedliner in the central Wisconsin area. This was a high pressure hot system used for Z-Tech, formerly known as Ziebart Tidy Car. He held many certifications as an automotive technician ranging from installing sunroofs to remote starters and everything in between. But no matter how busy he was Jamie was never too busy to golf in a tournament with his good friend Jim Nick. Above all things in life he always held dear to his heart the love for his children, especially his three grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Sarah (John) Gribowski, Schofield, Shawn Zastrow, Schofield, Kelsey and Whitney Rausch both of Wausau; Brittney Rausch, Wausau, special friend, Jane Rausch, Wausau; one brother, Charles Zastrow, Rothschild, one sister, Tammy (Anthony) Schmidt, Texas, three grandchildren, Caleb & Hailey Gribowski and Ivy Hanson-Zastrow; four nephews, Charlie, Ryan and Eric Zastrow and Chris Schmidt. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
