Sandra "Sandy" F. Smith, 72, Wausau died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House. She was born May 18, 1941 in Wausau, daughter of the late Leo and Ella (Krueger) Bauman. On November 16, 1985 she married Roy "Buzz" Smith in Wausau. He survives. Sandy worked at Schuette Building Center, Kmart and IGA Foods in Rib Mountain. She loved tending to her flower beds, reading, bowling and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Survivors include her husband, Roy "Buzz" Smith, Wausau, her step son, Frankie Lang, Wausau, step daughters, Jane (Marvin) LaRue, Arizona and Jennifer (David) Bittner, Wausau, sisters-in-law, Mona (Don) Cannady, Tomahawk and Norma Dudash, Wausau, a nephew, Perry (Barbara) Schuette, Minocqua and a niece, Sally Kahn, Indiana and her best friend Esther (Charles) Reed, Wausau. Besides her parents and first husband Frank Lang she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle and Carol. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
