Sandra "Sandy" L. Ryan

Sandra “Sandy” L. Ryan, 83, of Rothschild, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born on November 12, 1941 in Wausau to the late Henry Sr. and Anna (Kniess) Heinz.  Sandy was later married to Clarence “Buzzy” Ryan on December 18, 1961 and he preceded her in death in 2001.  She loved the outdoors, especially camping and watching the birds.  Sandy always enjoyed going to Tomahawk during the fall ride to see the Harley parade and enjoy the sights.  Every now and then she spent time trying her luck at the casino and also liked the challenge of her 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles.  If you ever bought a cake to celebrate a special event, there is a good chance that it was decorated by Sandy as she worked for many years at Dale’s Super Value and later at Quality Foods as a cake decorator.

Survivors include her brother, Milton (Marlene) Heinz; special nephew, David Wimmer; special niece, Sandy Mohelnitzky; neighbor friend, Cathy (Ron) Stange; and close friends, Ruth Laak and Tom Zieglmeier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Buzzy” Ryan; parents, Henry and Anna Heinz; brothers, Roger, Henry Jr., Donald, and Dale (Darla); sisters, Mary Ann (Elmer) Wimmer, Joyce (Alvin) Goetsch, and Annette (Terry) Lach.

A funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Private entombment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
