Sandra M. Krueger

April 3, 1961 — January 17, 2016

Sandra Marie Krueger (ne'e Franklin and Golie), age 54 of Wausau, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in the early morning at home on January 17, 2016 surrounded by her family. In a world surrounded by darkness, we were blessed with the sweetest soul. Sandra Marie Krueger has positively impacted tens of thousands of lives and even that is an extreme understatement. With a smile that could brighten any day and a giving heart that could light up the entire world, she made a sincere difference each second we were fortunate to spend with her. Born on April 3, 1961 in San Francisco, California she started life as an adventurer. She made her way to Missoula, Montana where she graduated from Sentinel High School. After graduation, she moved to Idaho, Minnesota and then settled down with family in Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UW-Green Bay and her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from UW-Milwaukee. During her time as the Director of the Domestic Abuse Support Center in Shawano, she succeeded in building the Safe Haven shelter which has helped mass amounts of battered men, women and children. As she continued to grow, she continued to help others. Most recently, she opened the Centre for Well-Being with Noreen Salzman which offers a full range of counseling services. She was an active member of Saint Matthew's Parish and enjoyed sharing her faith. One of her many gifts were to turn every negative experience she was presented in her life into a positive one. Her faith and complete trust in God was admirable. Whenever she suffered, she cried out for help from Jesus because He always has our best interest at heart and is the only refuge to have. Sandra was a phenomenal counselor and the best friend anyone could ever wish for. The love she held for everyone in her heart, even complete strangers, was astronomical. Whenever she saw anyone in need, she did everything she could to help them. The Funeral Mass will be held at Noon, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church (229 South 28th Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin) with Father Robert Thorn presiding. There will be visitation time at 11am until the time of services on Thursday at the church.
