Sandi K. Higgins

Sandra K. “Sandi” Higgins, 75, Edgar passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 while under the care of St. Croix Hospice in Edgar.

She was born May 4, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan, daughter of the late Lyle and Mary (Szarenski) Roberson. Sandi graduated from Midland High School in Midland, Michigan. She married Howard Higgins Jr. in 1970 in LaPorte, Michigan. They lived in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Ossineke, Michigan, Ironwood, Michigan and traveled in a motor home since 2000. Her summer home was in Edgar near family.

Sandi enjoyed camping, traveling, machine embroidery, sewing, cross stitch and other crafts. She was a lifelong camper and had the chance to visit 47 of the 50 states. Sandi worked for Dow Chemical in Midland, MI CLOW Corporation in Oskaloosa, Iowa and managed an insurance office in Ironwood, MI for 8 years and also worked for and the Michigan Bowling Association.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Howard Higgins, her sons, Michael (Debbie) Higgins, Spencer, and their children, Leah, Chase and Judd, Corey (Tina) Higgins, Edgar and their children, Caden, Carver, Cael and Caius, her brother and sisters, Mary (Gregg) Johns, Midland, MI, Debbie (Wayne) Rivette, Freeland, MI, Ed (Thelma) Roberson, Midland, MI, Connie (Dave) Varner, Midland, MI, Jenny (Dick) Gordert, Midland, MI, Tom (Sue) Roberson, Rhodes, MI, Chris (Claudio) Roberson, West Olive, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mary Roberson, her sisters, Linda Roberson and Karen Fitzgerald, her brother, Randy Roberson and her sister-in-law, Karen (Fitzpatrick) Roberson.
