Samantha Marie Raduechel

Samantha M. Raduechel 22, Wausau, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born February 28, 1986 in Wausau, daughter of David and Anne (Tranetzke) Raduechel. Samantha attended Wausau West High School, graduating in 2004, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. During high school she was a member of and served on the Mayors Youth Action Council in Wausau for 2 years. Samantha graduated from the University of WI Whitewater, Magna Cum Laude in May 2008, majoring in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. One semester was completed doing an internship in Washington D. C. at the United States Attorney's Office. She was in her first year of law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn., where this determined young woman was just beginning her dream career. In 2000 Samantha was fortunate enough to experience Florida through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Samantha, her parents and her best friend, Bex, got to visit Disney World, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Sea World and Cocoa Beach, to see the ocean. Some of her hobbies included shopping, gardening, watching movies, playing games and listening to music. She loved the Brewers and the Packers, especially Brett Favre. Every year she looked forward to betting for the Packers against her Dad and her Grandpa Vic. She enjoyed reading, cooking, camping and all things outdoors. She also enjoyed her yearly week long stays at the MDA camp on Green Lake. Samantha made many friends throughout the United States and kept in touch with them through the years. She was so special to many, touched our lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her parents, David and Anne Raduechel, Wausau; dogs "little brother and sister", Tucker and Big Max; grandmother, Valeria Raduechel, Wausau; grandparents, Victor (Evelyn) Tranetzke, Wausau; aunts and uncles, Steve (Sharon) Wanta, Earl (Carol) Raduechel, Tommy Zieglmeier, Thomas (Elaine) Wohlfahrt, Peter (Jeanne) Gutowski, Suzanne Raduechel, all of Wausau, Carolyn Haase, Vesper, Joseph (Jill) Tranetzke, Gillett, Stephen Tranetzke, Marcus Aurelius, both of Milwaukee, Mary Utecht, Karen Wasmundt and Mike Bembenek, all of Wausau; and many cousins, dog cousins, relatives and many, many friends, especially Rebekah Gordon. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lawrence Raduechel, one aunt, Shirley Zieglmeier and one uncle, Keith Utecht. The funeral service will be at Noon on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 6th Street, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will officiate, Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services, all at the funeral home.. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Steven NIchols, Dr. Thomas Wald and the entire staff of Aspirus Wausau Hospital for their compassion and care given to Samantha during her stays. They would also like to thank Shriners Hospital, Twin Cities Unit for all their care throughout the years. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to MDA, in care of the family. This was one of Samantha's favorite quotes.
