Sally Ann Puent, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born May 2, 1954, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Donald and Lois (Stoeckly) Fellenz. On May 5, 1973, she married Robert “Bob” Puent Jr. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in LaCrosse.
In 1972, Sally graduated from Aquinas and went on to Mid-State Technical School in Stevens Point, where she obtained her LPN in nursing while Bob was attending UWSP. She later continued her education at Nicolet Technical College in Rhinelander, earning her RN while both of her boys were in college.
Sally cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Together they enjoyed sledding, swimming, and trips to the playground, and she proudly chauffeured her grandchildren to countless appointments, sports practices, and ballet practice. She greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school programs, sports events, and ballet performances. Sally also enjoyed card games, card tricks, board games, and following the “March Madness” bracket challenge with her family and grandchildren, especially the playful “trash talk” with her grandsons. She loved cooking and baking, and always looked forward to decorating Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, using plenty of sprinkles. Her banana bread was always in high demand. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Poker games with her brothers were always special occasions for her.
She loved visiting Lake Superior and exploring the restaurants and waterfalls along the North Shore. Sally was also active in her faith community, playing in the bell choir at St. Mark Catholic Church.
Her infectious smile, laughter, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include husband, Bob Puent; sons, Brian (Jodi) Puent and Kevin (Ciolagh) Puent; grandchildren, Damien, Griffin, Everett, Addison, Aubrey, Emmett, Clayton and Elsie; brothers, Matt (Pam) Fellenz, Marty (Joanie) Fellenz, Myron (Tammy) Fellenz, Steve (Gina) Fellenz and Paul (Michelle) Fellenz; sister-in-law, Patti Fellenz; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Mike and Mark Fellenz.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Eric Mashak will preside. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild.
