Sally M. King
71, 6617 Townline Road, Hatley, died Friday December 21, 2007 at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born April 7, 1936, in Wausau, daughter of the late Ray and Frances (Kurth) Sickler. On April 7, 1956, she married William King in Pine City, Minn. He preceded her in death March 11, 2005.
The Kings farmed in the town of Reid for 13 years and Sally had also been employed for ten years by Mary Roddis Connor. A member of the Hatley Red Hatters Club and the Ladies Wednesday Card Club, Sally also enjoyed escorting for Wojo Tours.
Sally will be remembered fondly as the Matriarch and "Ruler of the Roost" for the King Clan. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and respect for her ran deep because she always told it the way it was. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include five children, Korey King and his family, Kristy, Collin (Angie) and Katie; Alan (Ann) King and their family, Brandi, Cody and Chloe; Lane King and his family, Noah (Lindsey), Josh (Tiffany), Tyler and Shanna; Perry (Margie) King and their family, Kyle (Shannon) and Maggie; Jill (Kim) Fandrey and their children, Brandon and Jared, five great grandsons, Nathaniel, Jordan, Zackery, Wyatt and James; one sister, Willie Marten, Ringle, one brother, Jack (Athlene) Sickler, Ringle, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Sickler and Merry King; her surrogate grandchildren, Rachel, Jakob, Hilory and Lydia.
Besides her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by a grandson, Remington, a special nephew, David Woznicki and a brother, Emery Sickler.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday December 28, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hamied Rezazadeh and nurses, and the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice team for the outstanding care given to Sally. Special thanks to Lindsey for all the help and direction given to the family.
